Marine Mammal

The CSA International, Inc. (CSA) Marine Mammal team provides fully trained visual, acoustic, and aerial observers for all marine and offshore industry operations. We offer full environmental assessment and mitigation support for government and private entities in offshore marine and coastal communities. Our personnel are available 24/7 for rapid response anywhere in the world.

Oil, Gas, and Renewable Energy
CSA personnel provide BOEM and NOAA-compliant training, assessment surveys, and mitigation services to the seismic, oil and gas, and renewable energy industries and offer a full range of services for protected species programs throughout all project phases, from pre-construction through decommissioning.

Bioacoustic Monitoring
CSA offers enhanced passive acoustic marine mammal detection and localization capabilities for all types of mitigation. Our specially developed acoustic monitoring system (SeaBAM) is effectively used in offshore geophysical/geotechnical surveys, hazard site surveys, migration monitoring, ship traffic studies, and harbor mitigation monitoring.

Dredging and Marine Construction
Dredging and marine construction often require the successful combination of a wide variety of environmental services. CSA provides multi-species assessment, turbidity monitoring (both active and fixed), sensitive habitat protection, and overall environmental management in support of dredging and marine construction projects. All personnel hold appropriate permits and letters of authorization for their assigned duties.

Aerial Surveys
CSA supplies qualified and experienced personnel for offshore and coastal wildlife surveys. Our staff have decades of survey experience for marine mammals, including manatees, right whales, sea turtles, and coastal and pelagic birds.

Project Consultation and Planning
CSA provides cradle-to-grave project management assistance as well as consultation for specific needs or project requirements, including desktop surveys, project planning, permitting assistance, literature reviews, and agency consultations.
